The cover for Vanity Fair’s February 2016 issue was shot in New York.  This was Vernon François’s first time working with celebrated photographer Annie Liebovitz.  ‘The Hollywood issue’ honoured some of the film industry’s most influential women, including Lupita Nyong’o.

“Being part of this shoot was an incredible privilege.  It was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the versatility of Lupita’s true texture and show how hair is an expression of one’s personality.  I kept her hair short and continued the line of the eyebrow arch with a very deliberate parting.  This style is true to who Lupita is: sophisticated, dramatic, great shape and a definite edge.” – Vernon François.
